not sure where the pattern is available--i usually don't follow a written pattern-----all i saw was a photo & made them from there--
they're only triangles & squares......i used 3.5 sq & 3 7/8 for the triangles.......
i have seen this same pattern in 2 magazines [1979 & 1982] i can look for them if you can't find it & email it to you

nursie76 04-05-2010 04:08 PM

I will search online for it if you tell me what the name is...if you can remember, if not, I will PM my addy to you.

Thanks.

Love the red, white and blue!!!

JudyG 04-05-2010 04:13 PM

Great job on all of them. Isn't it amazing how one pattern can look so different depending on the fabric and placement?

Rexene 04-05-2010 04:16 PM

Neat pattern. I love the red, white and blue. I would also like the directions for the pattern, if anyone finds it.

Crafty1 04-05-2010 04:20 PM

Very pretty! Like the pattern alot!

susie0808 04-05-2010 04:21 PM

rootyr 04-06-2010 02:12 AM

Wow!

SaraSewing 04-06-2010 02:17 AM

What a great example of what color placement does. I did a similar thing with the boomerang swap, using the same pattern and various colors. It's amazing how different they all look. the R/W/B is my favorite!

diannemc 04-06-2010 02:58 AM

Oh I love them..sooo pretty!

nursie76 04-06-2010 04:53 AM

cuppi duke 04-06-2010 06:27 AM

I love the first one and it doesn't have too much paisley. They are all really pretty, now you need to finish them.

Yarn or Fabric 04-06-2010 07:42 AM

Okay. I'm officially in love with that block pattern! That is very very cool!!
I'm going to have to remember to go through all of my block books to see if I have it! Very Very sharp!!

sewlady31 04-06-2010 08:13 AM

Iam not sure what the name of the block is, I had put together the square and triangle counts of the colors
for the RWB version.
A 8X8 Grid
White: 20 Squares All 1/2 Square Triangles
Red: 14 Squares White/Blue 12
Blue: 2 Squares Red/Blue 12
White/Red 4
Total of 64 pieces to
match the picture layout. Hope this helps.

sewlady31 04-06-2010 08:15 AM

THe post did not come out as I had typed it. The muliple
color listings are for all the 1/2sq triangles.

littlehud 04-06-2010 08:16 AM

I love your blocks. Are you going to make a quilt out of them. They are cool .

GailG 04-06-2010 09:22 AM

I love the muted effect of the one you have labeled too much purple and paisley; and I love, love the patriotic one.

i contemplated that but i think they're too inconsistent in color to be joined together........

great job, thanks, it would have taken me awhile to look that up in my scratchy drawings!! your version applies to the one chosen. it is a little diff for other color choices. simple

in one of the old magazines it is called "nancy's fancy" which pretty much tells you nada....have to find the other magazine
i call it "framed" don't wear a hole in the carpet...........

sewlady31 04-07-2010 03:19 AM

For the block with the outside corner accents. You would need: Corners (4) squares. Corner accents: 1/2 sq Triangles (8)of
the border with accents. Border background: (8) squares
For the Diagonal frame: (8) 1/2sq triangles. Borderbackground/with frame print. (8) 1/2 sq tri diagonal frame print/square frame print. (4) 1/2 sq tri diagonal frame print/star background. (12) squares of square frame print. Center star: (8) 1/2 sq triangles with background/star print.
And 4 squares for the center of the star. Total: 64 pieces
I did not notice the corner accents when I looked at all
the different versions that you made, so I wrote the additional colorways in the above numbers.

These are great blocks with all the different color ways
you can come up with. thanks for sharing.

nursie76 04-07-2010 04:30 AM

I appreciate all the help that everyone has provided because I really want to make that block! But, could you please help me out with the size of 1 square. They all see to be the same size, but I want to get it right. Thanks.

just_the_scraps_m'am 04-07-2010 06:15 AM

the size i used was 3.5 for the sq & 3 7/8 sq & cut that for triangles. You could make it larger & use 4.5 sq &
4 7/8 sq & cut on diagonal for triangles OR you could cut 2.5 sq & cut 2 7/8 sq & cut on diagonal to make it smaller

velvor 04-07-2010 07:27 AM

I really like the paisley one, but I am partial to purple!

You are very good if you just did that from looking at a picture. I like all of the ones you shared, especially the 'bright colors' and 'country'.

Rina 04-07-2010 09:42 AM

I like the pattern. Some celtic image.

Ilovemydogs 04-07-2010 09:45 AM

Very cool! I like the red/white/blue! Another project to add to the list :-)
