Quillow for my great nephew

A quillow is a quilt with a pocket on one side. You fold the quilt into the pocket to make a pillow. This quillow size is 39.5 x 65 . I used minke for the backside. The pattern I used came from Fons and Porter's book Fun Quilts for kids of all ages. Summer 2007. This is a great quilt to use up novelty prints you don't want to cut and piece.

Probably about 15 years ago when I was still working and knew nothing about quilts, I decided I wanted to make a
quillow for my nephew. I couldn't understand why you would use such thin batting, I mean weren't you suppose to get warm under a quilt? Well, I did it my way and just imagine how hard it was to fold that sucker with the thickest batting I could find. My nephew ripped the thing trying to undo and refold that thing. A close friend and I still laugh about it. I've learned a few things about quilting since. |
