I need your help, please. I am making this quilt for my GS this Christmas. Which backing should I use; black with circles or red gingam (that's not spelled right). And then what should I bind it with. I thought of binding it with the truck material; but would that look right with the red backing?

I'd back it with the black/white material.

I prefer the black backing.

black backing with a yellow binding that matches the trucks. how wide are you making the binding? if you are going about 1" i would recommend a tone on tone or a marble one. that way there is some movement to the binding and it isn't just left hanging in there.

It seems to be unanymous so far, since I vote for the b/w backing also. Black binding would also be my choice.

If your GS means grandson, I would diffently use black. I know my grandson wouldn't want pink. Looks very nice and alot of work. :D KEEP QUILTING :thumbup:

Quilt looks great, the black and white for backing and black binding. I usually don't worry too much about the backing, I just have to have one.

I agree with everyone on the black&white, and I think the yellow binding would be great - unless you're worried about him dragging the quilt around. Then the yellow edges would show dirt pretty fast!

Black and white is more masculine; the red gingham seems "frilly" somehow.

I like the black for the back too, but I would bind it with the gold in the trucks. It will bring the trucks out a bit. Nice looking quilt. Love the pattern and you did a great job!!!
