I think you see the 'error', but no one else will. I think we all second guess ourselves after we've done something, and stop looking at the whole thing. The quilt is beautiful. I think they will enjoy it. As far as the sides, yes I understand how you might want white to separate the blues. But I think the blues in the border might be a bit more modern,--at least that's my story!

You could always make pillow shams to match if you don't quite like the top edge. It does look beautiful the way it is.

I can see what you mean, as the option you describe would be beautiful. However the one you made is also beautiful, and you have to make choices!! Be at peace with your choices- that is a great quilt.
