Thanks for all the great feedback, believe it or not this is what the ladies at out lqs suggested. I was not real crazy about it myself, we are gonna have to take a road trip next week I guess to see what we can find that will work better.

I think the red is too stark. It needs a softer red IMHO.

As for the AccuCut, I prefer to strip piece or use a grid pattern for HSTs. Squaring blocks is not a problem for me.

But if this works for you - that's great. I think it's important to get one's money worth out of an expensive tool. Can you work with your friend, and maybe you could buy some of the dies for the use of the cutter? It seems awfully expensive for just one person.

I think the whole concept is fantastic. But, they would have to be accurate to be worth the expense, as well as used often. I think as a Quilt Store owner it would be a great tool to make and sell charm packs.

there is a commercial version that our lqs does use. It is over 500 and the dies are more expensive than for the go but there is a larger variety.

Maybe a softer red, keeping with the other softer colors...
That is going to be a beautiful quilt :D:D:D

I have been sort of looking at them, but wondered if I would use it enough to get my moneys worth out of it. What do you all think?

I love that quilt and I also have the GO cutter. I love it! I cut so much out on it. I hate cutting and this seems to help me. There are ways that you can get wonky cuts so you have to watch out for that...

I'm glad you posted this link. It's helpful to get the opinion of someone who's used it before investing that kind of money. I wasn't in the market for one, but would definitely prefer to spend the extra few hundred on fabric or other supplies.
