Yes, something softer in keeping with the 30's fabric

Beautiful quilt.

Pretty quilt! I also think the red is a bit tooo strong for the quilt.

I worked on the cutter for a day at the LQS helping cut 2 1/2" strips and I thought there was alot of waste...I would have to do alot of strip quilts to justify the cost, not worth it

Beautiful quilt!!
OK, I have the AccuCut Go! and I just love mine. I have the 2 1/2" strip cutter which is a great time saver as well as way more accurate than anything I could cut -- especially if I needed enough strips for a king size quilt. I haven't found any inaccuracies in their dies yet but I have found inadequacies in the form of the user. It makes a great deal of difference how you lay your fabric on the dies as to the outcome. :D |
Love the fabrics you chose.

I don't think that you will like the red border after it is on.
I also think some soft blue, pink or yellow would look best. |
After looking at the colors and prints it seems as tho almost every fabric has blue in the print. There is a deal of others colors all of which might go well with a soft greeny blue or
blue green that would provide just enough contrast to the green in the quilt. I think perhaps a solid, don't forget, like I always do, to take the quilt with you and look at fabric in store and step outside in real light too. Not that it matters here it is usually gray for 9 months of the year but for those who live in the real world, I think it is a good practice, like when buying lipstick. I mean how much florescent lighting do you have in your house? So check out match in natural light if you can. Good work, and good luck, quilt is darling you two. |
