Love the color combination! The white really brings out the unique design. I visualize an Oriental screen that you can see through in the white spaces. Just beautiful! Good job and for a great cause.

This is gorgeous, great color combination. Every part of the design pops. What pattern is it? I'm quite sure a lot of raffle tickets will be sold for this beauty.

OK, don't shoot me but I'm a bit anal when it comes to this stuff.

I see the way you pieced the Jacob's Ladder, but it looks to me like some of those 4 patches in the corner of some of the blocks need to turned so that the ladder is continuous.

Unless it's some allegory about falling off the ladder........

(it's the 4 patch in some of those blocks, in others, it's whole quarter block that's off - meaning the outside patches aren't in the correct position either)

gingerd 11-08-2012 09:00 AM

Your choice of design and fabric is wonderful! Someone will be very lucky to win this!

It took me a little while to see that cause I liked the overall look anyways, but as someone who's new to quilting I can say, that my first quilt top I started making, I made this kind of error, and it was in the middle of a couple of blocks, and the blocks hated me as it was, and I was like.. this is for charity, I don't care enough to rip it out, but since i'm also OCD about that kind of stuff but REALLY didn't want to re-do them, the quilt has not been completed. I don't find it horribly distracting in this particular pattern/color scheme and if it was me making THIS quilt, I probably would have left it and continued.

THAT said, *I* appreciate that you are willing to offer constructive criticism and I invite you to do so on my postings in the future.

Additionally, *I* did not notice MY error in MY quilt blocks until I had posted a picture and my aunt and mother pointed it out to me. So I was glad they did. Sometimes we don't see them until people point it out.

Beautiful! I think we have all made quilts and after they are quilted we realize we made an error. I never saw my error until I posted the picture and than it hit me in the face.

I never noticed that any thing was wrong with your quilt. The first thing that came to mind was WOW that is super cool.

You have, I am sure hear the saying DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. Great job.

Gorgeous. Hope it bring a lot of new funds for the church.

fmhall2 11-10-2012 07:14 AM

Very nice quilt. I didn't realize this Board was for critiquing others quilts. I would ignore her criticism, and forget it. You did a beautiful job on it, and I do hope it brings a lot of money to the church.

Thank you! Indeed I did find it on F&P's web site. In getting to the pattern, I now have a new magazine subscription, 2 new e-books, and 2 new e-newsletter signups. LOL - they saw a sucker coming, big time! I must say, your quilt looks better than the one pictured on the pattern!

kathbug 11-10-2012 07:42 AM
