Lovely quilt. Glad you are now able to apppreciate the quilt. It is probably a good thing you waited until you are a quilter to truly enjoy it! Many happy years ahead for you!

I'm working on a little baby quilt. I just pin basted it today. I totally suck at cutting so my side borders are wider than my top borders since I only had a certain amt. of fabric. But I didn't want them all to be that small so I figured what the heck. I need some cutting tips in a big way. I have no idea how to cut such loooong pieces...and this is just a SMALL quilt! I'm taking a beginning quilting class starting the 3rd week of September. Top it off with the fact that I suck at math. Now I don't know how to FMQ it with the pins in the way. :) The quilt is square...it's just the photo.

Just remove the pins as you get to them.

I'd say your marriage is going strong after 17 1/2 yrs. and the quilt is BEAUTIFUL. I know you can truly appreciate all the work that was put into it now that you're a quilter.

When I read your first post I thought wow!! Then when I read this one I laughed so hard. Thank you, I needed a lift. That was too funny. Isn't it amazing how one letter can change a word to mean the total opposite.

Me too!! I knew it was a slip of the keyboard--happens all the time to me! But--it was good for a giggle.

Beautiful quilt!! Definitely time to use it!!

I love it. My grandmother quilted and I have three of her quilts... who would know, I have three children and each one has one of her jewels. She mostly used feed sack fabrics and old clothing. One of her quilts is made of materials from my mothers blouses and my neices infant dresses. Such fond memories.

You should ahve taken it out years ago. Look at all of the enjoyment you've missed. I think after 17.5 years you can safely use it. Put it on a bed!!!
