The Quilt I made and the Bed Frame Hubby Made...
1 Attachment(s)
This quilt was made during the month of February right after I spent some time in the hospital in A-fib.
I was angry that: it happened again, I ended up in the hospital again, and I was on meds again. Needing focus during this difficult time, I starting cutting into the stash... 1,013 colored squares 1,012 white squares 2,025 total squares They were cut at 2 1/2 inches and arranged across 45 x 45 down The quilt is displayed on the new wooden bed frame that Hubby made. We found the pattern online and made a few alterations. It's nice and tall, painted black then antiqued, and I love it! And to let you know, I am now off my meds and have found my way back from anger and life is back to the way it was... |
Wow, to both of you! You both did something wonderful. I doubt I would do something like this when I'm sick. But I commend both of you for your strength.
Glad to hear you are A-OK. And WoW! You and your Hubby are an awesome team! Beautiful work, both of you!

They are beautiful, both the quilt and the bed frame!!! I am so sorry you were stuck in the hospital. But relieved you are doing so much better now. You turned your anger into a beautiful quilt, how marvelous. Thanks for sharing.

Ah....there's nothing like creating beauty from adversity. Stunning collaboration....simply elegant. Thank you for sharing with us. Glad to hear you are now on an even keel.
You are going to be my model. I'm down with my leg in a surgical boot (again!) feeling mad that I can't continue on my new DIL's quilt (snuck in for about an hour earlier today.... it felt so good to just deal with the fabric and work on the design!). Easy goes at first, right? ooooooh NOT FAIR! Can you tell I'm in the tandrum stage?!
I'm happy to hear that you're feeling well again. What a remarkable way to work through a tough time. That's a lot of pieces!! The quilt is beautiful as is the bed. They seem to be make for each other. Stay well, and keep on making beautiful quilts like the one posted here!
Your quilt so complements your husbands bed - what a terrific job you both have done. I love the quilt but am not crazy angry enough to attempt it. I would love to try to make your husbands bed frame to show off quilts and it would look great in any color though I love, love the black.
Now that is what I call "team work". Well done to both of you.
So glad you are better. Love the bed he made and the quilt is great. I like scrappy quilts as much as the complicated patterns.
They are both awesome!
