Quilt I Made for a Christmas Gift

1 Attachment(s)
This quilt was gifted to my SIL it's the Disappearing Hour Glass from The Missouri Star Quilt Video. I used the measurement chart in the tutorial section on this board. Material used was from Kaffe Fassett, not my favorite material. Funny though as my Sister-in-law had gifted me with 4 fat quarter bundles of Kaffee Fassett last Christmas and I thought why not make her a quilt out of them.

A very pretty quilt! I love that pattern but had a real problem with MSQ instructions. I am so happy for the tutorials on this board. I finally had success after following Tartan's great tute. Thank you Tartan.

I love bright colors in quilts, but for some reason Fassett fabrics seem to me so overpowering in large doses, but I love your version, the bright colors in smaller pieces. It's beautiful.

Great job. Wonderful pattern and you have done well 'toning down" what could have been "over the top" bright. It's very pretty and I bet your SIL loves it!

quiltorelse 12-30-2014 08:06 PM

That is a very nice quilt. I have been thinking about making that pattern too.

That is "re-gifting" in the most fabulous way. Great quilt.

very pretty... I have saved Jenny's video to my favorites but have not had time to view it. Your pretty quilt is an inspiration to checking out MSQ's video. Love your fabric selection and background.

This is on my long list of quilts to do by Jennie Doan. I really love the way her design turned out - Yours is beautiful.

That's exactly my thoughts on Fassett fabrics as well. This quilt is a much more pleasing use of them, imo.

Very very pretty! This happens to be our BOM at my guild this month. Now I get to see what it will look like!

What a lovely way to "re-gift" fabric, make them a quilt. I keep thinking about using this pattern for a family reunion quilt, as I'm running out of ideas.

cminor 12-31-2014 09:51 AM

I love it! I am thinking about making my way through all the MSQ tutorials....that might be fun!!
