Here's the backing for the quilt I made thanks to Amma

Which one do you like the best?

Monique had to help.

This is the little border.
The color is more of a rust. It matches the little stars in the cream fabric.

I was thinking of putting another border of this rust color and using the blue for binding. What do you think?

mytwopals 08-19-2009 07:46 AM

Terri, that was a quick one! It came out great! :D :D

Ducky 08-19-2009 07:50 AM

Looks great, Terri! Nice job. I printed all the information for that quilt top also. Looks like a good one for Christmas gifts.

tlrnhi 08-19-2009 07:51 AM

Thanks you 2.
The worst part was cutting the pieces.
Had to rip out a few, but not many.
All in all, I started at about 2pm, took a bunch of breaks.
Shut down for about 3 hours, then went back to it.
It's now almost 2am so it did come together rather quickly.

Ninnie 08-19-2009 07:53 AM

Great job, Terri! It looks great!
I missed the pattern.

Thanks!
The original thread disappeared for some reason.
Maybe Amma will repost it.
I only printed off the template and one of the pictures.
Forgot to save the entire thing.

Great Job and so fast, wow,

kd124 08-19-2009 12:48 PM

Beautiful quilt. What a speed queen you are! Love those fabrics and I think your idea about adding another border of the rust with blue binding is a great idea.

Darlene 08-19-2009 02:19 PM

I love it - the fabric and the pattern are great.

tlrnhi 08-19-2009 03:49 PM

Thanks all.
yes, I think I'll add another border.
The thin one is 1 1/2, then the blue one is 3 3/4 (finished sizes), so I think maybe I'll cut 6 inch border for it.
Wait til I post the backing fabric. I found 2 different ones and they are both really pretty. Just torn as to which one to use.

SharonC 08-19-2009 05:48 PM

I think you did a great job on this quilt and sooooo fast. It's nice that you can come through for the CO and his wife (and your DH :)).
Looking for the final quilt--I know it'll look great with the rust and blue.

sharon b 08-19-2009 06:51 PM

Terri sorry I missed this post, caught the other one first  It looks great and you just raced thru it ! GREAT JOB
Sharon

Love all the fabrics - and the whirlygig stars. Beautiful patriotic top! The rust fabric in the border is REALLY a nice touch.

Does anyone have a link to the directions on this one? I saw it yesterday and meant to bookmark it. I guess I didn't.

Thanks!

butterflywing 08-20-2009 01:31 PM

this originated with amma.

so, we all have to chase her down and threaten to take away her stash if she doesn't post the directions again. have you noticed that she's had nothing to say on this topic?

Thanks!

Amma had to rework it as the file was too large . She has promised to repost as soon as she made the file smaller

Wow Terri...I guess I missed all the planning of this one and the discussion, but it appears you are a speed demon. You usually are, so thats not surprizing. The quilt is really unique and I love how it turned out! I'm assuming its for Bill's CO...I know they will love it! Did you add the other borders? I think they will look great!

Bevanger 08-21-2009 07:25 AM

fantastic quilt. :D

Ok, the quilt is done and was recieved with great enthusiasm.
I didn't get any pictures of the recieving of the quilt, but there were smiles abound!

The guys couldn't believe that I did it so fast. Yes, they changed the time on me again and wanted it delivered TODAY! Needless to say, an hour before we were leaving, I sewed the label on it.

The rolling hills went MUCH better! Don't you agree??

Yes, Monique had to inspect it. UGH! I had just mopped the floor because the quilt had just come out of the dryer.

My signature I always put on quilts that I make when I sell them.

omak 08-21-2009 09:48 PM

It turned out just gorgeous!
Love the rolling hills, love the pattern (Amma? <g>), and your label is exquisite!
Good job, Terri <wave>
