Quilt Ladder
1 Attachment(s)
I spent about $33.00 on supplies to make this quilt ladder, including my new drill bit. It was a lot cheaper than anything I could buy already made. I officially love it. I just have to stain it. I used the instructions from A Beautiful Mess blog to make it. Link here: http://www.abeautifulmess.com/2013/1...et-ladder.html

I love that idea, and I have been thinking of one like that too. Your quilts look great hung on it. :)

Like this. I can just imagine many husbands getting requests to make one for their quilter wife including me. lol

Awesome job! Thanks for sharing the link!
That is really well made. It will look perfect when stained. Thanks for posting. Been thinking of making something similar for quilts in progress.

That came out really great. love your quilts too.

You are a multi-talented lady! What a nice display for your quilts.
Well done on creating a lovely display for your quilts.
I was lucky enough to grab a ladder a few years ago at a reasonable price but have not been able to find another one that would not cost an arm and a leg so to speak. |
Very nice and multi talented.
that is really nice you saved alot of money too!!!
It looks great. Thanks for the link. I know I could sure use the added quilt storage and display. Great job!

So cool! Nice job.
Well done looks great :)

I've seen people use ladders from bunk beds for this purpose. Check your thrift stores and used furniture stores.
Thanks for showing the ladder to us. I may get the Hub to make me one too!!'
LOVE THIS:) Thanks for posting. Guess what my husband gets to make me for my birthday. Thanks for the link to the instructions, too.
Thank you for sharing this. I can't wait to make this and share it with my quilting friends.
Very neat idea.
It is a very nice way to store quilts and they are not in a closet being hidden.
I love it!! A friend has one & I need one sooo bad!
Really neat idea. It turned out great & your quilts are gorgeous displayed on it. Great job!

Love you ladder. You did a great job. I use a very old apple picking ladder for displaying my quilts. Here is a little tip that you might want to use. I went to Walmart or Home Depot and bought the plastic rods that you would normally use to cover a shower curtain rod. I cut them to size and used them on the rungs of my ladder. Since my ladder was old, I did this to keep any dirt off of my quilts. You might want to do it to keep the wood stain from transferring to your quilts.

You're awesome to tackle that! Looks great! I sent the blog address on to my DH asking for it for Mother's Day. We'll see. Or maybe I can do it myself...you get kudos for doing it yourself.

Thanks for posting this. I moved recently and a quilt ladder is on my 'to do' list. I have a perfect place for it.
That is really nice. I could use one too.
I want! I could even do it myself (if I can get hubs to let me at his tools - I never let him touch my machines, so that might be the hardest part!)
Really nice ladder-my DD made one using one end of a baby crib & it was so cute too!!

Great job...Thanks for sharing...

Great job! I saw some nice ones at a Quilt Show this past weekend, but they were $125 to $225, depending on the wood.

OMG!! I sit for my nephew on occasion and will not accept $$$. I was over there and Nana started about $$$. I said what I really wanted was an old ladder to hang quilts on. 2 weeks later I had a 20 ft. ladder. Nana had gone to some friends and asked around if anyone had an old wooden ladder for sale. She was told to take it. My Dad helped cut it so I could use both pieces. I have one piece in my front room and the other in my studio. I absolutely love them. I will learn to use a digital camera so I can post a picture:D
