I am 78 and quilting is still my passion. I often say I don't know what other women do with their time if you don't quilt (or any other hobby). Last night I went to bed at 1 AM. Up trying to finishi a quilt. Only so much reading, cleaning and cooking one can do in a day. I don't watch TV except for news.

What fabulous memories. My Mom taught me to embroider and sew; however, we somehow skipped quilting, and all the quilts she made were worn out by the time I came along as the youngest of 7 kids, 5 brothers and one sister. However, there was a family friend that my Mom visited regularly, they shared garden advice and I got to see Aunt Kate sew on her treadle machine. She made beautiful quilts and pieced aprons, one I got when I was young and a more adult version when I was in high school. Her piecing was perfection.

Very pretty, cute horse.
I use to do lots of hobby things. Ten or twelve years ago I decided all I want to do with my free time is make quilts. I have many yards of fabrics. I make bunches of quilts per year and now donating them. All my kids, Grandkids , Great Grands have my quilts. Not much family (in laws) are left to give them to.
I have been quilting 48-49 Years.

Maybe you'll get the pink and brown one done by the time this baby is ready for a "big girl quilt"!
Years ago I let a rail fence quilt languish until the intended recipient had outgrown it. (It got finished and given to another relative.) Now I'm working on a king sized quilt for that "boy" and his wife.

You have made wonderful memories. My DD picked pink and turquoise for her first bedroom and quilt.
