Love the quilt and what a treasure. I sure wish I had something like that. My grandma's didn't quilt but they crocheted. I do have many of their doilies and a couple of table cloths, so I guess I do have a few treasures. Never thought of it that way before. Anyway what a beautiful quilt.

what a fabulous piece to treasure !!!! i have some tops from my grandmother that she did in the 40's. i have finished a few and passed them on to my children. it so important to be connected thru these beautiful works of art.

Awesome heirloom. Incredible quilt. I love the quilts from the 1800 and early 1900's.

The quilt was made by my great grandmother, Mary Tennessee Eastman Currey. She was born in Knoxville, TN in 1840. She died in 1921 in Nashville, TN. She served as a nurse during the Civil War in a hospital in Columbus, GA, where her husband was a doctor. This quilt was probably made during the early 1900's. It measures 70"x76". My mother had it quilted in 1975 and gave it to me as a wedding present. The small squares are 1/2". It is hand pieced and quilted.
