Here are pics of the pokemon quilt my mother in law made for my son for Christmas in 2000. He was a big pokemon fan that year. He is now 13 and out of those stages but I still love this blanket. I keep it folded up on my headboard of our bed for our spoiled dog Trixie. She loves it. My mother in law is talented at any craft she tries. She hand painted all of the characters on and she does all her quilting by hand.

Very special. I'd put it away and save it for his kids. I gave my dil all the crocheted baby afghans my mom made for my son. My mom died before my son met my dil, so it made me feel like she was giving something to my grandson. My dil cried and my son was quite touched that they were from his gran.

That is so cute. I agree, save it for his kids or for him as a keepsake when he is older. My mom had saved my baby quilt that my grandmother made me and gave it to me just a few years ago. I will forever treasure it as it now hangs on my living room wall.

I have to cast my vote for putting it away for your grandkids. It's adorable. I can't help but notice, your son's name is Levi? I think it's neat, my grandfather, father, brother, and nephew share the name. Nephew is actually the 5th.

That is cool. In our family they share the James name. I have a father in law, a step father in law, a brother in law, a step brother in law, and a nephew who all share it. So when my son came along I said no more James or Jimmy so we named him Levi and compromised and put James as a middle name....lol. It is confusing at the family functions. We have big Jim, Little Jim, Jimmy, Little Jimmy... :)

Yep, its the same confussion when we're all at my mother's house and the phone rings. If they ask to speak to Levi, the next question is "which one?" Middle names don't help since they all have the same one. The same thing if we see someone we haven't seen for awhile, they always ask, "So how's Levi?". I've quit asking which one and just start with oldest and work my way down. I figure eventually I'll get to the right one.

She did an excellent job on the quilt... The hand painting is excellent...
