Quilt for my favorite daughter in law
 

I made this for my dil and I really like it. I used a cheap muslin material and when I washed it it frayed at the seams. I had my mil and her friend over and they suggested I cover the seams with bias tape, but I didn't want to do that so what I did instead is close the seams and used a zig-zag stitch around the squares. (not pictured) and I gotta say it turned out much better.

Nice quilt! i made a Quillow with medium grade fabic and when it was washed all the seams frayed and came open. I had to resew on top to fix it and ruined the pocket. I know the frustration.

Wonderful quilt! Just an idea..I often will sew a personal message somewhere in the sashing. Something like I love you. I just fmq it on after I finish the quilt. Its a niice surprise when they sit down and look at the quilt.

I have always been told to wash muslin before you use it because it shrinks more than normal quilt material, I've always done that and haven't had a problem yet. This quilt looks beautiful!!
