My second daughter is having her first baby...due in 8 days! It's a girl and her name is Lily. I made this quilt for her. The woman who quilted it did such a wonderful job. The bears were not quilted and are puffy and stand out.

That's a darling quilt! Did you make up the pattern? I've never seen one with bears peeking out. What a lucky baby....and I love the name Lily too.
Nice job and congrats, Granny

Actually I saw the quilt picture somewhere, then my quilting friend and I were looking through her stash and there it was! The pattern for Peekaboo Bears. It was a xerox copy of a typed pattern. I looked up on the web just now and found that a woman designed the quilt for a Quiltmaker magazine contest in 1996. I couldn't find the pattern online though; that was a long time ago!

Here's the blog the designer wrote about the quilt.

How funny! As soon as I saw it I was wondering if you had named it as my suggestion was going to be Peek-A-Boo Bears. I've never seen this pattern or any other quilt done that way. She'll sure be warm in Gramma's love with that quilt!

CarrieAnne 05-21-2010 03:14 PM

thimblebug6000 05-22-2010 08:35 PM

Love your quilt, it just looks so cuddly! I like this pattern too, I've made it in yellows & greens (my friend liked it so much she asked if she could copy mine for her first great-granchild)
Lily is becoming popular this year, we have 2 close to us born this year.

Gerbie 05-22-2010 08:54 PM

I love it, and her very own "peek-a boo" quilt. She will enjoy it when she gets a littl older and can really appreciate, the love Granny put into it.

Olivia's Granma 05-23-2010 03:38 AM

I love this quilt. I would love to have the pattern. My sister wants me to make a child's quilt quilt for one of her fund raisers next year to be auctioned off and this would be perfect.

:D :-D

txgran 05-23-2010 03:38 AM

I love this precious quilt -- and your granddaughter will, too!

thimblebug6000 05-23-2010 06:31 AM

The sashings are all HST's so it's a little time consuming for a fund raiser, but it would work with solid sashings too I guess.
