Yellow Brick Road quilt pattern has very large pieces and it very friendly to use. Not very much matching of seams . You could even enlarge it . I actually made it but reduced the scale/size of the pieces as I thought it too large for my purposes.

Look on www.allpeoplequilt.com. They have a section on called quick and easy. There are several there that are simple to make and there is one I recall made with big block.

Janem100, you have lots of great ideas here. Another gadget that may help you is the 3rd hand. Below is a link. I have a friend who has Parkinson's and she loves hers. I have no affiliation to this at all. :)

I like this one. http://www.daystyledesigns.com/super...uiltdesign.htm
I've made it with charm squares and 6" blocks and it really looks great.

These are my "go to" quilts when I want a dramatic looking quilt that is quick and easy to make.

Hi. Just an idea I have. My 11 yr old GS wants to make a light weight quilt so I want big pieces for him so it won't take too long. I am planning to use a block pattern with a square in the center and enlarge it on graph paper to fit the size of his bunk bed. In the center square we will use the Thunder BB team logo and then add squares and triangles like 12 or 15 inches on a side. I think we will tie it will yarn as he would be able to do that. I went on Jinny Byers site and found several nice blocks to duplicate. By the way, she has a feature where you can design your quilt, pick fabrics and borders and see what it would look like.

The August 2012 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting has a Supersize Shoo Fly pattern in it that's really cute.
