Thanks Natalie, added that to my pages. Since it is garage sale season I should be able to find one fairly cheap.

I got mine at Walmart also, wooden really nice. I put a layer of foil, then 3 layers of cotton batting, then made a cover with elastic to fit over the top. That way you can take off and wash. Sits beside me at the sewing machine, love it for putting strips, scissors, blocks etc on it. Or your iron..

Very nice ladies...How come you just didn't use Insul-Bright which is what I use for pot holders and travel iroing pads..

I didn't have any insul-bright and the foil works great..

I have one of these little wooden TV trays. I would like to use it to make one of these, but I do have a question about them. My seems a little wobbly. Is there a way to make it sturdier? I would hate to have my iron sitting on it -- especially if it's hot -- and have it topple off!

very creative, nicely done.

I asked my hubby about sturdying mine up some....he will look into it tomorrow maybe. I figure I should have enough room at my table to put my iron, so it will sit there.

I used one layer of insul-bright and three layers of warm and natural batting.
