What a wonderful story and what a kind person you must be to do this. The quilt is beautiful. I am sure your kindness will be returned to you someday.

Beautiful items for someone that really needed something special at that time. So good of you to make him a quilt and show someone cared enough to spend the time making something for someone you didn't know you knew. You are a special person.

thank you!

I was feeling crabby about humanity after a whole day of rude people in the stores yesterday, and your experience reminded me that everyone has a history I do not know, and a little graciousness on my part is, literally, the least I can do, and perhaps I can strive for more.

I read this story to my dgd bc she said life is hard.
I did not try to tell her that life is not hard.
I tried to show her that sometimes it is hard and we
could all use a kind word or deed.
I also tried to show her that sometimes helping others
with their sad or hard times helps us too. She got it :)

I am reminded of the often quoted "Random Acts of Kindness". It is difficult to know who is most blessed, the receiver or the giver. I am of the opinion that God works in mysterious ways and we are sent help and kindness/love when we most need it. Last October my daughter and I were the receiver of the most wonderful help from a nurse in the Critical Care Unit where my husband of 46 years (her dad) lay dying while I was in another hospital recovering from major surgery. The nurse and my daughter had met earlier in the year thru a business related transaction. That nurse stayed with my husband way past her "time one the clock" because of the situation my daughter was dealing with (both parents in hospital) and because my daughter had helped her so very much with the business transaction she had to deal with. These two women shared the thought that they had been sent to one another just as you were sent to this young man when he needed someone most and I knew that these women had been given to me when I was unable to care for my husband during his last hours. AND my husband received the best care from a very knowledgeable medical person during his last hours. In these days when there seems to be so much hate and trouble around us, it is very comforting to be involved in acts of kindness and love for our fellow man.
