I am just finishing up a wall hanging size quilt that will be used to cover the fireplace to stop the cold air that comes down the chimney some days. I just need to attach the fabric covered magnets to the back and stick it on the metal surround.

That is nice. I have made door quilts for my home, it really helps with the heat and cold.

Tell the quilt police to mind their own business. There are bed quilt, crib quilt, table quilts and wall quilts to name a few, so why shouldn't there be window and door quilts. I love mine.

What you fail to mention is when the light shines through the quilt it lights up and looks beautiful beyond words!!
Great idea...word to the wise however, fabric + sun = fading but thats ok, I do believe it is serving an important purpose. Great idea |
