What a beautiful quillt. I've never seen a Trip Around the World in red, white, and blue--I love it . "Your" vet will be so moved and comforted and honored by your sacrificial gift.

Someone is going to love it. I know that the gal in CO who both makes, collects from others, and distributes in her area does allow the vets (both male and female) to choose from the batch she brings to them.

Gorgeous QOV! You did a great job! I made one for my brother for Christmas last year. I'll have to post it someday!

I am glad your son is getting better and I hope things continue to improve for him. That PTSD is hard stuff.

I to have wondered about the process of who gets what. I thought when mine is done I might ask the Chaplin to pick
some one he thought might need it most. Your quilt is beautiful!

Quilts of Valor Foundation Group Members

[QUOTE=Dina;7292948]I just put the last border on this Trip Around the World quilt, which will be a Quilt of Valor after I get it sandwiched and quilted.

I think it turned out rather well, and I hope the veteran who gets it likes it. Does anyone know if a vet gets to select his/her quilt or is that decision made by someone else?

Dina[/QUOT

I'm a Quilt of Valor (QOVF) Foundation member and from what I've seen sometimes the veterans get to choose the quilt they like best and other times they are handed out by the group coordinator or another QOVF member. It's pretty much up to the group coordinator. Hope this helps. Love, love, love this quilt!!! Thank you for donating it to a veteran. I promise you that any veteran who receives it will cherish it. Sometimes veterans actually cry at the award ceremonies when they are awarded one and say that no one ever said thank you before (especially Vietnam vets). God bless, Linda

Very nice, great colors

the quilt is lovely! The choice of a quilt depends on who or how it is presented. You need to ask through the organization does it.

Very nice quilt. I always love the red, white and blue quilts. Glad some lucky veteran will get this.

Love, love this quilt. We have Hero Day nad donate quilts locally to a 3 county area. We pull in names from these counties because our guild members are from these counties.

I see this is an older thread but it's the first time I've seen it and I LOVE your quilt. I'm sure whomever received it cherishes it. Gorgeous!
