I bought the pattern and 2 fat quarters as a kit from one of my LQS shops ($6). This baby bib only takes 15 minutes to make and that includes all the pressing! I thought they turned out really cute.

They are cute. Are they bibs or burp cloths? I don't see how you attach them around the baby's neck.
|
very cute :)

Sorry, I had a typo! They are burp cloths. :)

Really cute burp cloths. I will have to try to make some of those. I ususally make them out of prefolded diapers and embroider on them. Thanks for the idea.

Those are cute.

Cute!
Are they just two layers of cotton, with a thin batting between? Or have you put flannel or terry on the one side. What size are they? I'm thinking I just might make some for a couple of baby gifts! Thanks for the info and idea. |

Thanks for the info and idea. Actually, these are made by just using to flannel fat quarters and no batting or terry cloth at all. The middle fat quarter (or as the pattern calls it, the "theme" fabric) is a fat quarter folded in half with the other fat quarter sewed to it. It is my guess that one could use terry fabric instead of flannel but I haven't tried it yet. I did try regular cloth fabric but it doesn't do a great job at absorbing any liquid. |

They are so cute... i made at least a dozen for my great newphew born in March. He has a problem with reflux and was lactose intollerant, so he upchucked so very much of what he drank - so lots of burp cloths - and they came in so handy, that the new mommy begged "Please, make more!" I made mine out of flannel and are so soft and easy for baby to lay his head on and easy to wipe up little Messes.
Isn't it fun making for babies? I enjoyed it to a max. |
How cute? Would you even need a pattern? And do you quilt the entire thing?

Very cute! Baby's mother is sure to love them. Are they made of regular cotton or flannel? I saw some similar ones made of flannel, and they were very nice.

Any baby would count themselves very lucky to burp up on those!

I've seen these made with diapers, never thought of using flannel. I think I'll make some only I'll double the fabric and have a front and back so they can be more absorbant. Thanks for the details. |
