Quilted and Bound: Finally finished my CRUMB QUILT!

3 Attachment(s)
Well, dear quilters, I have finally completed my 3 year long crumb quilt project! I posted the progress of it a while back, and am happy to say this one is done and comfortably laying on top of my bed as an extra layer or warmth! Do you ever feel nostalgic when a long project comes to an end?

This quilt is a "square it up" quilter's dream. I was able to trim the units at exactly 6.5" without losing a any crucial part of the blocks! The wonkiness of the blue and red blocks enabled me to put my ruler down and trim without worrying about the block being straight.

Ah...all those little pieces remind me of other quilts!

Wow, it's really hard to see the full sized quilt. It's washed out, too. Hmmm. Might need a new picture.

Enjoy and thanks for looking!

Congrats to you! Your Crumb Quilt is wonderful! I love how you alternated it with another block. Nice job!

Still not very big probably because the original is too big and I have to resize it. The color is a little better, but the pic is a smidge blury. Don't understand why I'm having trouble photographing this quilt. It's my second favorite of the ones I've made!

Beautiful! Love your color scheme! 3 years? Now that's commitment!!

I love it!!! I need to make one of those! That type of quilt design is also a way to repurpose cut up pieces of the ugly blocks we don't like in our UFO bins!!!

What a great looking quilt. I myself don't know if I could work with small pieces. I've done a lot of mile a minute quilts but I won't use anything less than 2" because I found that if I used really small and narrow pieces of fabric that when the blocks were cut into the size I wanted sometimes I only had slivers of some of the fabrics. Your crumb quilt looks great.

calla 09-09-2014 04:44 PM
