Here's a pic of a hotpad I made this afternoon. It's based on a pattern called "Wild Waves" from the "101 Patchwork Potholders" book by Linda Causee. I picked a pattern that could easily be expanded beyond the square shape into a rectangle hotpad that I could use to set hot caserole style dishes on the counter. It measures 8" x 16". The seam between the bottom two rows is a little wonky towards the right end, but Oh well. :)

Wow Eddie - that's really great!!! I love it! Looks like a lot of tiny pieces! I don't see any wonkiness!

How cute!! (And wonkiness gives it character....)

I know that pattern as Ribbon - it makes a great border, too!

I think your hotpad is great. I need to take a few hours and dedicate it to making practical things I could really use. Waaaaaay prettier than anything I've seen in the stores :)

Very nice, Eddie! About the wonkiness, that shows it was made by a person and not a machine!

ooooh, really nice! I bet those peices are tiny!

Nice job! I make all my own hotpads because the ones you buy are slippery and not big enough. In fact, I just washed 2 tonight.
