I was thinking flowers, too. In keeping with the hawaian theme.

A repeated hibiscus flower would do nicely. I made three tropical quilts last year and I had my longarmer use that pattern. It was gorgeous.

I love this quilt. In my quilt universe you can never have too much print!
Since I do lots like this, I can say that I agree w/ those that suggest a meandering all-over. It just isn't worth the time to do fussy quilting when it doesn't really show up :-D :-D

I vote for the meander as well. Fancy quilting won't show up, so save yourself the work. Great qulit.

I like the way you have used the fabric.

I love Hawaiian prints! I agree with the allover meander or something simple since it won't show much......unless you have something you want to practice, like machine quilting feathers or something like that----this is the perfect quilt to practice on!

Totsy 08-14-2011 02:32 PM

I agree with Luvspaper. It seems the majority thinks you should meander. Since I prefer hand stitching, I stay away from meandering. It would be a good time to do diagonal lines in both directions or to use a pattern or several patterns you would like to practice before using them on a future quilt.

Found this pantograph for sale and it would mimic the flowers.

reminds me of Hawaii..all over med to large stippel...great job

debbieumphress 08-14-2011 05:21 PM

I love this quilt and staring at it a long time didn't hurt a bit. I would do meandering too.

BeeNana 08-14-2011 05:24 PM

You have a lovely quilt. Even crosshatch would work.

quiltymom 08-14-2011 06:00 PM

Ditto!!!!

aeble 08-14-2011 06:17 PM

Love your batting choice.

bamamama 08-14-2011 06:20 PM

Meander. Sounds boring but you've got alot going on in that quilt. Love the Hawaiian shirts!

Mariposa 08-14-2011 06:32 PM

An all-over pattern would be nice!

carrot 08-14-2011 06:38 PM

Meander !!!

sisLH 08-14-2011 06:49 PM

Have to think what will show up on the back -How about some of the big Hawaiian flowers?

iquilttooo 08-14-2011 08:30 PM

meander--anything else would be a waste of time and energy--fun quilt!

Jammin' Jane 08-14-2011 08:54 PM

Whatever you do, please show us!!!
Fun quilt!

Jenniwren 08-14-2011 10:23 PM

I would quilt large circles with smaller ones inside each circle

cctx. 08-14-2011 10:59 PM

Very pretty, awesome job.

Scakes 08-15-2011 01:59 AM

Really like your quilt. It's so pretty and colorful. I vote for a meander quilting on it too.

Wow! I agree. I think a meander would work well also.

grammysharon 08-15-2011 08:43 AM

All over design. I might quilt this one from the back side!

misseva 08-15-2011 10:17 AM

I vote for SID or diagonal lines.

AnnaF 08-15-2011 04:23 PM

I think a meander will work fine. With that much going on with the fabric the quilting is secondary. The fabric will be the star and that's a good thing.

Phannie1 08-15-2011 04:26 PM

Very Colorful. Needs to meander or out line some of the larger flowers.

QuiltQtrs 08-15-2011 04:41 PM

Meander ... and add a couple areas with tighter stitch: Stippling for
contrast

With a busy quilt like this I think the meander quilting works best
