Quilts for Christmas

2 Attachment(s)
These are my two latest quilts. Both were from free patterns. The Flag pattern is called Old Glory and the other is called Rolling Waves.

Homespun 12-20-2019 06:25 AM

They are both beautifully done!

sewbizgirl 12-20-2019 06:26 AM

Gorgeous! Was Rolling Waters hard to make?

sue.ross.8782 12-20-2019 06:37 AM

The Old Glory quilt is really glorious. Rolling Waves reminds me of sine waves from my math and physics classes. Both are lovely.

Tartan 12-20-2019 06:39 AM

Wonderful quilts and gifts!

Scrapquilt 12-20-2019 06:58 AM

Super easy. All nine patches in a variety of sizes.

tallchick 12-20-2019 08:01 AM

Both are simply beautiful, love them excellent work!

Jordan 12-20-2019 08:26 AM

Both quilts are beautiful. I especially like the Old Glory one. I am admiring your quilt on the wall behind the person holding the rolling waves quilt. Is that a Turning Twenties quilt or Yellow Brick Road? Would you share the name please?

toogie 12-20-2019 08:43 AM

Jordan it reminds me of a Double Slice but half of her layer cakes are sliced a different size. I hope you get what I mean. I can explain in detail if not but maybe by then you have received your answer from scrapquilt.

Tish05 12-20-2019 08:46 AM

They're both beautiful and so different.

toogie 12-20-2019 08:50 AM

Scrapquilt, your quilts are just gorgeous! I am glad you responded to questions about the Waves quilt. I try to see the individual blocks and try to figure out the pattern. I am happy to realize I am correct about they’re 9P. The harder part is figuring the correct size but I love it! I also love your flag quilt. It is ! I wouldn’t mind that one either. Whom ever receives either of these will surely be pleased. Merry Christmas-Toogie

Both are superb. I particularly like the various red tones in Old Glory.

QuiltnNan 12-20-2019 09:44 AM

beautifully done

Jordan 12-20-2019 09:49 AM

Toogie-I think you are right that the quilt on the wall does look like a Double Slice pattern and I have seen that tutorial on the MSQC. I do agree that maybe the maker did cut the pieces in different sizes. Maybe she will answer a little later and give me the name of the pattern. I appreciate your reply.

Trapunta 12-20-2019 10:25 AM

Very different, but both are wonderful.

I=

It is a Layer Cake pattern called Double Split. By accident I cut the sizes incorrectly, but it came out nice.

Love both of your quilts and will definitely have to put the Rolling Waves on 2020 to do list. Thanks for sharing.

May I ask where you got the pattern for the quilt Old Glory. Would love to make one.

luvstoquilt 12-21-2019 05:51 AM

Both are simply beautiful. I want to make both of them!

Mkotch 12-21-2019 06:36 AM

Love them both! Do you have a source for Rolling Waves? Looks like something I'd like to make (adding to an ever-growing list!).

Jordan 12-21-2019 06:38 AM

Scrapquilt-thank you for your reply. Glad it came out ok with the incorrect cutting. No one will ever know and you just created a new pattern for yourself!!! I like the fabrics you used too and I am familiar with that pattern.

Found this online - hope it helps you locate it! Such beautiful quilts!

Claire123 12-21-2019 09:05 AM

I love them both. I had intended to make the rolling waves about 2 years ago and even bought the fabric. Haven't started it yet. You did a great job.

Mariposa 12-21-2019 10:08 AM

Both quilts are beauties! Fun scrappy on the wall too.

tebill 12-21-2019 10:44 AM

I was able to find a pdf this morning for the Rolling Waves quilt. It's still a free pattern! I think it's the third quilt pattern (last one on this pdf) shown when you scroll down.
