Quilts for forest fire victims

4 Attachment(s)
We had several local forest fires. Our guild heard there were 100 families burned out, then we heard 10. The actual number of full time resident families was 35. With a lot of help from our friends, including members of this board, we made 36. Some of mine were given out without being shot first. We are very grateful for all of the help we had.

more quilts. I asked for orphan blocks and got a great many. We also got several complete quilts and some tops. The Log Cabin Quilt Guild of Hayfork is grateful for all of the help. I expect that at our guild meeting tomorrow we will begin to hear from the recipients.

Nice quilts and so much work that you all did to make them. I am sure the recipients were happy to get something comforting when it must have been so needed.

That quilt in the middle picture took alot of work. that is really cool with the borders like that.

skypony 11-21-2015 04:06 AM

How did you do the overlapping square block? that is really cool. I love the wine colored quilt with that block in it.

The quilts you did are wonderful. You did a great job. But the greatest part of the gift is your time in making and giving these beautiful quilts.

Lovely quilts. I can't imagine losing everything but I can imagine how wonderful it would feel to know that I could wrap myself in a quilt and be thankful for the hands and big hearts that made it to share with me.

You all have my admiration. The work you do honors all those who work to help people they may never meet. Am I correct in thinking that the first batch of pictures is of quilts finished as QAYG?

These are beautiful gifts for the fire families. I admire all of you for pulling together and making all of these nice quilts for these people. I love love the 3 strip quilts where there are 4 patches in each block and then sashing around each block. Real colourful scrappy quilts. I think I can do that fast enough for a couple Christmas gifts.

ccthomas 11-21-2015 06:11 PM

Nice quilts to provide so much comfort.
