Here are a few pictures of quilts that i have made from my fabric stash.. I am determined to not buy any more fabric until i have used up what i have...

quiltluvr 12-15-2010 12:27 PM

Love your stash and love what you did with it!

paintmejudy 12-15-2010 12:29 PM

"until i have used up what i have..."
hee hee -- anyone want to join a lottery to see how long she lasts without buying fabric? (All in fun, Pam!)

Or ... I wish I had a dollar for every time I said the same thing.

mommamac 12-15-2010 12:29 PM

you must have great will power - good luck!

Jim's Gem 12-15-2010 12:32 PM

Very nice

I recently whipped up 11 quilts solely from my stash. Theoretically I could make about 300 more from there.....

I understand entirely. I am absolutely sure I could make a minimum of 300 from my stash, not to mention the two hundred I could make from my already ironed and sorted scraps.

Quilting, isn't it a wonderful hobby? I just love it.

GrammaBabs 12-15-2010 12:40 PM

Nice job of using stash and still looking fine!!!!!

ann clare 12-15-2010 01:10 PM

Well done. They are beautiful.

carolaug 12-15-2010 01:50 PM

Just when the dread, shame of having a large stash, the DH says "Get it"-he's my enabler ("Most often the term enabler is associated with people who allow loved ones to behave in ways that are destructive. For example,... ;)

salmonsweet 12-15-2010 02:11 PM

Hello and welcome! Great work, pam. I'd love to see bigger pics, especially of the middle one... :D

Re not buying, I love what you are doing. I've just taken a smaller step in the same direction - joined the fabric moratorium on this board. Meaning I ommitted to buy no fabric for a year, unless I need a fabric specifically to complete a project I've started and don't have anything suitable in my stash. Doesn't it feel good to work what's already in the house!

Welcome again, and looking forward to seeing lots more pics from you in time! :D:D:D

maryel 12-15-2010 02:15 PM

Very nice, and good for you. I know that I personally couldn't do it tho...

virginia cartwright 12-15-2010 02:20 PM

I made 6 Quilts this year from my scraps. The pile has gone down quite a bit and I am still working on the pile of scraps. A Bargello quilt is good for using scraps.

CoventryUK 12-15-2010 03:14 PM

Lovely quilts and well done for using your stash, but didn't you know those scraps breed during the night!! However much you use you finish up with another bag/box of scraps!!!

amma 12-15-2010 03:18 PM

Beautiful quilts :D:D:D

Cyn 12-15-2010 03:24 PM

I'm trying the same thing. So far, so good!

Tussymussy 12-15-2010 03:27 PM

Wow, you certainly have a lovely stash and make a great quilt too.

ccb2200 12-15-2010 03:43 PM

Very pretty.

I said that I would'nt buy any more fabric until I used up what I have. Well you know how that goes. I'm back buying fabric, so I have even more than I had before.

champagnebubbles 12-15-2010 03:56 PM

wow great stash

isnthatodd 12-15-2010 04:02 PM

I collected a box of denim from my kids' clothes, etc. After I made 2 quilts, I had more left than I started with!!! I guess denim is one of those that breeds at night!!

I admire you for wanting to use up your stash. Think what fun you'll have choosing more when it's gone

That is gorgeous! I love it!

earthwalker 12-15-2010 06:18 PM

Beautiful quilts...love the hearts. I too am having a moratorium, but only on florals (I have a lot). Thanks for sharing your beautiful stashbusters.

quilterken 12-15-2010 06:22 PM

Nice quilts. I wish I had the willpower to use just my stash. If I start sewing now... I would need at least four... maybe five lifetimes to sew up may stash. Maybe, I shoud find some will power

Me, too! It is really hard not to buy fabric, though! I went into Joanns on Sunday to buy some batting and the fabric seemed really thin, so that was not hard not to buy any there!!!

pam.v 12-15-2010 07:12 PM

We only have one fabric store here in town and it is expensive so that helps. I have to travel 75 miles to get to the good ones.

so-sew 12-16-2010 03:49 AM

Good for you! They are beautiful, and all with stash materials? I've made the same commitment to buy no more fabric until I've used a lot of what I have, but I sit and look at my fabric uninspired....nothing seems to "go" together just right. I may need to make a trip to the store.....poor me (haha).

What do you guys do with the quilts you "whipped up"? (I'm still at the stage where the only thing "whipped up" at the end of a sewing session is me because all my points are off!) 11 quilts is a lot of quilts. Do they go to charity? Family members?

deltadawn 12-16-2010 07:00 AM

Beautiful.

Psychomomquilter 12-16-2010 07:38 AM

awesome quilts

quilter64779 12-16-2010 07:50 AM

I love alll the scrappy quilts and I too have enough stach to make quite a few. I like the string ones.

sewing4kix 12-16-2010 07:51 AM

You did a great job! Beautiful :)

Lynneander 12-16-2010 11:32 AM

Oh, how I wish I had your willpower! Your quilts are beautiful!

Patchworkmarion 12-16-2010 05:53 PM

My New Year's resolution every year is the same.Maybe this time I will be strong like you

patimint 12-16-2010 06:36 PM

You have more will power than I do, although my next few quilts will be from my stash. Hubby said no more material. If only he knew how hard that is.

IBQUILTIN 12-16-2010 08:52 PM

Great job Pam, and I wish I could use mine up It will take me Years to use up what I already have.
