Gorgeous rag quilt! Nice job!

Gorgeous! What's the name of the charm pack you used?
Lovely quilt. I made a rag quilt with flannel, mini wale corduroy and brushed corduroy. I bought the rag snippers for Amanda and me. It really made a difference since the quilt was a generous queen with the extra to go over the pillows.

WOW what a beautiful rag quilt, one of the nicest I have seen but I would never do one that big cos of all the snipping, take care of those blisters which you should wear with pride seeing the result
get a pair of rag snippers they work great i think they are made by fiskar.
beautiful glad you finished it..get a pair of rag quilt snippers for the next one
I have made a twin size rag quilt. I have a pair of snips though. I would not have made it with regular scissors :)
Beautiful quilt.
I LOVE it! :D :D :D
very pretty! I love rag quilts! What I do is clip as I go instead of waiting til whole thing is done.

I do not recommend making one this large (52 x 60 inches) unless you have bandaids for the blisters you'll get from the scissors. Or maybe I just don't have the right tools. But it's finished and it's gorgeous. :D
Made with five Moda charm packs on the front side, Bella Solids on the back, and flannel in the middle instead of batting. |
Sure is pretty, glad you finished it.

It's a beauty! I love the wonderful fluffy look to it. Hope your blisters are well healed, and that you're "well-heeled" enough to buy some of those special scissors the gals are mentioning to do your next one pain free!

Beautiful quilt. I've been thinking of making one but don't think I can handle it with all that cutting.
But it is beautiful!!!! Well worth any blisters and the price of a box of bandaids
absolutely beautiful quilt!
I am not a fan of rag quilts but I really love the one you made!
Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I also made a rag quilt and was so surprised that the snipping took so long and was NOT fun. l0l But, the end result... your quilt... is beautiful.
That is stunning. I love how the raw edges fuzzed up! I wanna make one some day.
Just a question, how do you prevent all the unravling on the raw edges from clogging up your washer? |
Very gorgeous! Well worth the blisters, I think!
It's gorgeous. Hope your blisters heal quickly!

It turned out beautiful.

Your quilt is very nice, beautiful colors. You have done a great job in the ragging. Nice and closely cliped is what makes the ragging look like yours does. I have made several rag quilts and it took me quite a while to realize they needed to be clipped close to be pretty. In case you decide to make another one there is scissors that you can buy especially for clipping rag quilts.
Wow! It's beautiful! I love how it looks like you've put white sashing in between the blocks.
Sure turned out gorgeous, though.
For a rag quilt, this one is really pretty. Great job!!!
It might have been a pain but it sure is pretty.
Im not a big fan of rag quilts, but your's is gorgeous!!!! I may have to rethink rag quilts now after seeing yours!!
Beautiful quilt!
So pretty!
Great quilt
I always use flannel in the middle of mine. I usually buy flannel recieving blankets at garage sales and cut them up for the centers. Works great and yours is beautiful.

Very pretty and cozy too. Now I can see the advantage of using flannel instead of batting, thanks for the picture.

WOW! Beautiful rag quilt! :)

Love your quilt! And yes, they are a lot of work. I use scissors made especially for clipping the rag quilts. I also clip as I sew - I don't leave it to do when the entire quilt is finished. That seems to help.
