nifty!

I made this quilt too. I have all the blocks with the pieces glued. I stopped to work on Christmas and other holiday stuff. What size are your blocks? I made mine a bit larger. Mine will be 9 blocks vertical. It certainly was fun to put together.

Wishing you a quick recovery.

goldendog55, I love this!! I started one last spring but did my migration from Florida to Nova Scotia (in April)and left all my scraps down there. I'll finish it this winter. I hope it looks as pretty as yours!!

katsewnsew 10-20-2011 08:35 AM

this is really nice! Love the colors, good luck with your surgery!!!

bettyC 10-20-2011 08:42 AM

How will you quilt it? The top is basically quilted already so I wonder how you will quilt it when you put the back on?
I was going to make a quilt like this and am trying to plan ahead on the final quilting. Thank you for ideas.

I really love the bright colors - it's good to treat yourself once in a while. I always say "if mama isn't happy, then nobody's happy" Wishing you much luck with your surgery and a speedy recovery

grannypat7925 10-20-2011 12:47 PM

Awesome quilt!

bbeyes 10-20-2011 01:00 PM

Did you zigzag the pieces on white background or color background? Really looks great.

goldendog55 10-20-2011 01:11 PM

I zigzagged the colored scraps onto white fabric. I have started quilting it, and I stitched in the ditch between each color and around the white center. I'm also going to stitch around the shapes, as it is making it puffy.

bettyC 10-20-2011 01:16 PM

That sounds like a good idea. Hope you post a picture when you get done with that. It is really a nice quilt.

Why not?
It's lovely, colorful, unusual.
It's great for all skill levels, and the fabric requirements aren't overwhelming. Most can probably make it from existing stash.

And thanks for posting the link - and giving credit to - the original blogger.

Can't wait to see what you do for your next project.
