Rainbow Log Cabin Quilt
6 Attachment(s)
This has to be my all time favorite quilt I have done. This is the first and only log cabin I have ever made. The blocks for this log cabin are about 28". It is 3 blocks wide and 3 blocks long. It is a queen size quilt.
My step daughter wanted a quilt and she gave me a picture of a log cabin with rainbow colors. The funny thing is she was telling me how she had took the quilt to her baseball game to sit on and how everyone was admiring it. I just about had a heart attack! Really! Do you see how much white is in this quilt? Kids! This quilt is double batted and it has flannel on the back. I wanted it to be warmer for the fall months (more like week) in Bakersfield. It goes from hot to cold here. I was thinking about making another one in red, black and white. This quilt is super easy. 2 1/2" strips that could be cut on an Accuquilt if you had one. Let me know if you are interested in the details and I will give them to you. Those large feathers where a pain. They turned out ok but I will do them a lot different next time. |

Love your quilt and quilting!! Especially the way the curls and pebbles interact! I get so bored doing pebbles, mine just start to degrade to a sorry mess! How do you keep yours so perfect??
It is an illusion! They are far from perfect! Some are round some are oblong some... well are just there. But when you get them all together it works.

A beautiful job.
beautiful and so is the quilting!!
Beautiful. Bet you would have been more comfortable with black in place of white.
You did a beautiful job on your log cabin. And your quilting is beautiful also. At least your step daughter love the quilt you made her and is using it. Sometimes recipients think a quilt is too pretty to be used so it is shelved for safe keeping. Love the red, white and black theme you are thinking of doing and the size of your blocks.
very nice.........:)
It's beautiful!
Love, love, love it. Yes, I would love to have a tutorial to make one. I can see it would really help with my overflowing stash.
Beautiful quilt and quilting!!
This is stunning!
Oh my gosh, that is stunning! No wonder everyone at the game admired it. One thing, when a beautiful quilt like that gets out and about, it should change peoples' attitudes that quilting/quilts are old-fashioned.
Amen to that! There is such a stereo type associated to quilting!
