Rare Surprise
 

Most of the time when I give a quilt away, I never hear much about it after the initial response. Imagine my surprise when I opened up facebook this morning to find a picture of a quilt I'd made several years ago (2005) for my niece who is away at college...it was on her dorm bed and she wanted me to see that she still uses it, loves the colors still, and that everyone who sees it comments on its beauty.
Here's the quilt as it looks today on her dorm bed as well as a close-up from when it was made in '05.

There isn't any nicer compliment that she could have given you. We are all delighted when whoever receiver our quilts is satisfied with the quilt we made.

How nice to see it being appreciated. I once spent the night at my daughters and discovered that one of my quilts was the "padding" under the bunk bed mattress, so disappointing.

It is nice to be appreciated...unfortunately many times our recipients fail to let us know how much they love the quilt and they usually do love it...LOL

That is the greatest compliment when a quilt is still being used long after it was presented. I made my DS a bright blue and black Triple Irish Chain for his bed when he was about 12. Fast forward several years, every time he left home he took it with him and every time he returned it returned with him. That spoke volumes.
