Brilliant!!!!

Lori Peercy 12-21-2010 08:29 PM

That is one of the first quilts I saw when I found this site. I printed the picture out and wrote on it "One day I will make this piece of art myself" I am not ready to tackle anything close to it yet but it is my goal. I look at the picture all the time and strive to sharpen my skills. You have done a beautiful job!

sandraa 12-21-2010 09:29 PM

I just bought the paper foundations for this quilt! I decided to splurge on one of her pattern sets. Yours is lovely.

Momof3Es 12-21-2010 10:18 PM

Your quilt is awesome!! I love the colors! Can someone please tell me what the deal is with these Y seams. I saw one pattern that was bragging that it didn't have any...is that a good thing??

That is jawdroppingly beautiful. I'm with Sulabug - you are fearless. I've spent lots of time looking at Judy Neimeyer's patterns, but never been brave enough to try and do one.

This is a paper pieced pattern by Judy Neimeyer called Hawaiian Star. The colors are more brilliant than the photo and I am pretty happy with it even though I must work on the skills to do Y seams better.

I love it and Judy Niemeyer patterns are amazingly beautiful, but lots of work! I am amazed every time I see one finished.

You deserve a large pat on the back for finishing it!

happymrs 12-22-2010 08:22 AM

Looks wonderful to me, great job, don't rush the quilting, I think waiting till after xmas is a very wise idea. Then you can take your time & enjoy the process! Can't wait to see it all quilted & finished!...

Wow, love this!

Mariposa 12-22-2010 10:46 AM

Fabulous!! I am excited to see it finished! I love her patterns. Have you seen the new Glacier Star one coming out next month? It's about 60", so a bit smaller.

jljack 12-22-2010 11:44 AM

Gorgeous top...I learned a lot about Y seams when I made a large Bethlehem Star quilt earlier this month. When I finished it, I felt fairly competent at that skill. Don't worry...it gets easier. Try several different methods of doing it...there is more than 1 way...and you'll find one that works for you.

I love your quilt!!! :-)
