Pam---what a wonderful way to do applique. Your results are spectacular!!!

I just love your block. The final design and fabrics are both terrific. I look forward to seeing this quilt as you progress.

Are you going to have it finished by the 4th of July?

I'll be lucky to have this block done by then. I do have 5 days off, the 3rd thru the 7th, so might get some work done on the whole.

I do love this method. It's the best applique I've ever been able to do.

Have to try this method! It looks great! Have to go order some water soluble thread! Thanks Pam and Klue!

Wow, this is slow going! Told you I'd be lucky to have this block done by July 4th. I got the last 4 leaves pinned on so that I can take it to work with me today. Hopefully I can finish them! Still have 8 flowers to do and then all the little berries.

I took a break from that and got all the HSTs done for the 4 flag corner blocks. Got one of them done and doing the applique star. I'll take it with me too though it is probably wishful thinking that I will get to it today.

Coming along great Pam! I love the flag block.

Pam, that is really gorgeous! Good job! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Looks great! Still love that red fabric in the vase!

I only cut out the fabric for one of them to make sure all was OK. The block pattern in EQ came up with all these odd measurements for the pieces like 3 3/16" and I thought there was no way I was doing that! I re-drew all the pieces so that they were even 1/4" increments.

OMGOSH!!! I just love this Pam!! You've done so much on it. I love how you did the flag too (I figured out how to do that a couple of days ago so that's on my list to do a better flag)

I love watching your progress Pam. Going to be a beauty!

pittsburgpam 07-03-2009 08:42 PM

Something I really like is a design that uses several different types of blocks. I don't get borded doing one thing too much. I got the other 3 flag blocks done today too except for the star. Have 4 more days off so I hope to get another two types of simple blocks done, I think a total of 20.

I like your thinking - sort of like a sampler in not being boring - but more cohesive.

It's so difficul to do this by pictures - hang on, I'll jump on the next plane - get the bath salts ready for my jet lag! The sunbonnets would be cute too but di you want cute? The bear was cute! (well someone has to stick up for poor Ted LOL!)

Omak, I agree you had some great ideas.
K, after reading your commments I am ROTFLMAO. You had good ideas too.

I like the flowers and the vase but my first thought was an eagle. I see you made your decision. It looks great!!
