Recycled Jeans Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
Cut 6 inch squares from old jeans from my husband (the black) and myself (the blue) to make a 44x60 throw for a homeless vet. We were asked to use flannel on the back for warmth, so I used three left over pieces and this quilt will be very warm. The hardest part is cutting the jeans and squares, but once that is done it goes together really fast.

Well done! That will last and keep someone warm this winter.

Well done. It is a shame that our vets are in this situation.

Looks terrific.....I have quite a few pairs of old denim jeans I've been collecting to make a rag quilt for my grandson but after seeing your quilt I just may re-think my idea!

That looks great. I too have been collecting denim. Simple squares look great. It makes me want to make one with a red flannel back and tied in red thread.

A few years back I made 2 denim quilts for 2 of my grandsons. 1 using 6 inch squares from their Dad & Gr father's jeans. and 1 4inch squares from his & Brothers jeans size 4 thru 8... I chose not to do the rag quilt. I too tied in red with flannel backing. They are still using them and are in good shape.
