Hi everyone
My daughter got rid of two pairs of purple curtains and one pair of pink so I made her this.

It's not perfect as I had trouble quilting it, manouvering the weight of fabric was a problem but hey
recycling is recycling.

Way to upcycle!!! It is lovely!

MaryMo 09-16-2012 06:00 AM

fascinating! Great work .... hope she doesn't want her curtains back to hang at the window! LOL

Ellageo 09-16-2012 06:03 AM

WOW! I saw this and kept saying "WOW"!! Love it!

Fuzzykittenbutt 09-16-2012 06:06 AM

yay for recycling! and what a nice result; I always get super protective of my finished quilts (maybe I haven't made enough yet) and am always worried that they'll get dirty or snagged or otherwise damaged. with a recycled quilt like this one I think I wouldn't be so hesitant to just go for it and bring it along on a picnic; nice job and thanks for sharing and the inspiration!

QuiltnNan 09-16-2012 06:20 AM

Good for you! That's what our ancestors did - and you have the satisfaction of knowing you made a beautiful quilt out of what many others would throw away. Love the quilt!
