Just don't look too close at the quilting, lol.
I used invisible nylon thread, and it did those stupid loops on the underside in some places. I'm going to wash it, and see how it looks after, I might go over the places that really bother me, but we'll see.

ToucanSam 03-03-2010 02:44 PM

That is an interestIng quilt!

LoisN 03-03-2010 02:44 PM

Quilt? Looks like a baby to me!

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 03-03-2010 02:45 PM

oops wrong photo, sorry!

It seems my camera is retarded. I took two pictures of the same thing, from two different angles, scanned through to see which one I wanted to upload, and then when I put the SD card in my computer, the files had vanished, lol!

bj 03-03-2010 02:56 PM

Quilt is gorgeous, but the baby bump was pretty darn cute too.

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 03-03-2010 02:57 PM

lol, thanks, I took that pic this morning. I'm at 32 weeks now!

nativetexan 03-03-2010 03:01 PM

loops. sorry. if you are going to hang it perhaps you could put some fray check of sorts on those areas. but not if it's to be used. there is one out that is softer but still you probably perfer to do those areas over. lovely quilt though!

Esqmommy 03-03-2010 03:01 PM

Beautiful quilt Mel!!!!

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 03-03-2010 03:07 PM

It's going to be hung, so I think the loops that are on the back are just going to stay there, and the ones on the front I'll just pull out in the back. It's invisible thread, so it's not THAT obvious, just on the border in a couple of places. It's not like the quilt is full of them either, just a few here and there. I just hate it when that happens and then you find them at the very end *sigh* I need a quilting frame.

shaverg 03-03-2010 03:07 PM

Sort of, this was my first bargello and I had a picture to work from, but I didn't follow any instructions or anything.

All over stippling, nothing fancy.

I have a Bargello that I made several years back and really didn't know how to quilt it. Thanks, it sure looks nice. Stippling does rally look nice on many quilts. Do you have a longarm?

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 03-03-2010 05:43 PM

Unfortunately no... I quilt everything on my conventional machine. I WISH I had a long arm, really. Or even just a machine with more room between the needle and the rest of the machine, it's such a pain to wad and roll up the whole quilt in that small space.

buddy'smom 03-03-2010 05:52 PM

That is awesome-you did an excellent job. Love it.

Rachelcb80 03-03-2010 06:45 PM

I cannot even think what to make of your ability! LOL
I might be jealous, hmmm ... I am glad that you have that ability because I see that you put it all to good use! <wave>

k3n 03-04-2010 03:22 AM

Stunning Mel - the movement in it is just beautiful! I just got the last of the fabric in the post this morning that I ordered to make my first bargello - I got a pattern from Lockwood Designs though - not as brave as you at winging it! Right, I'mm off to check out that bump!
