red and orange disappearing 9 patch

Hi,
I started this little quilt (about 42" x 50") probably 1 1/2 years ago. All that was needed to finish was to put on the binding and I finally did it!!! It's a gift for a male cousin who lives in a nursing home; he has always loved reds and oranges. He's never really cold - this is just to brighten his room a bit. So it's to cozy up the room not the guy? Hey, that's as good a reason as any. Don't know what his nursing home is like, but my mom was in a dreary place that needed a few of these bright, beautiful quilts.
|
Won't he be thrilled?! I love it. Your border fabric reminds me of one I used on a quilt for my daughter.
|
I didn't think I'd like red and orange together. But, I DO!!! You have changed my mind! Your quilt is beautiful!

Love the quilt. just a note -- you might embroider his name on it --- as things have a way of disappearing in nursing homes.

Quilting Grandma - so glad you brought that up about embroidering his name; I had thought of that at one point then the idea totally flew away!
Leakus - this is so easy and so much fun. Here are a couple of links to get you started: http://www.quiltsforkids.org/pattern...quilt-pattern/ http://quiltingtutorials.com/all/dis...lock-tutorial/ I think my starting squares were 4", not 5" as Jenny used. Makes no difference, just remember some will be cut in half. Here's one in different colors and I have a red, white, blue as well! Pat |

Very nice! You certainly aren't the first one to have a quilt in progress for a while! Great time to finish it with the fall colors.
