Red/White/Blue Paper Pieced Star
1 Attachment(s)
Here is my first RWB made with fabric a lovely member of our group sent to me. I'm doing it for a block swap on Carol Doak's yahoo group. This is her Pennsylvania state block from her 50 Fabulous Stars book. I am going to do more, but I think I'll find some other blocks too, so they're not all the same. Any input?

Your block is wonderful! can't wait to see the finished quilt.
|
The colors are fabulous and the block looks very intricate. I would love to see the finished product.
|
Really like your fabrics! Carol's book is a fun one...you could do several blocks from that book and have a really amazing quilt in the end. Be sure to keep posting pics of the blocks you do...nice paper piecing :)

Love it! Terrific fabrics!

Good looking paper pieced star. Nice fabrics! Just a couple of tips to turn it up a notch. Just a few tips I learned when I started to P/P. Starch your fabrics. Starching really helps when you fold back the last pieced unit. It also keeps each unit flat while adding another. Press at each addition , in other words when you add a piece. Press the added piece before adding another. I have even used steam, not a lot but if you are using plain copy paper it will be OK. Looks like you are already having fun!

Good job! Pretty colors!
