Since it's the 4th of July I want to share pictures of the picnic quilt I made (especially for the fireworks tonight) and a placemat (which I'm using as a center piece on my table today)

Machine Cathedral Window (took a class with mum and loved it!!)

Absolutely stunning! Is the cathedral windows the hand sewn kind, or the mock kind? Wow, what a nice job. And the red/Wh/Blue one is my FAVORITE! Scrappy, but a definite design. What pattern did you use for it? My compliments!

I love the picnic quilt, but then I love picnics, so perhaps I am biased. Hope you had a great day!

Thanks for the wonderful comments. The scrappy quilt was from a Fons and Porter Magazine...it's called Blue Streak (issue Nov/Dec 06). I started it over a year ago, but got tired of all the little (2") blocks that I had to put it away for a while :).
The Cathedral window is an actual cathedral window--not faux, but done on a sewing machine. It was actually quite easy, I don't know know how to do by hand.
