Remember "Christian's 10 Minute Block Quilt"?

With permission from AZ Jane, I copied her gorgeous quilt, with a few changes to make it my own King-size quilt. This is going to be one big quilt! 102 X 120. I am thinking about doing both hand quilting and tying on this big boy!

Well, you get the "OFFICIAL JANE STAMP OF APPROVAL". LOL, GORGEOUS!!!! In case you were wondering, I hand quilted a square in the 4 block corner than echo around the little diamond shape in the middle of the blocks. Don't you just love it!!!!! Good job!

It is so big, it will take a long time to quilt... the funny thing is, we don't even have a King bed yet... but hey, if I finish the quilt, I HAVE to get a new bed to fit it, right? Hahaha. Thank you for your inspiration! |
Wow, really beautiful!!!!

That "big boy" is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Looks beautiful!

This is really pretty. I love your color choices. Question- did the blocks take you 10 minutes?
|
Actually, I got quite proficient after having made so many 10-Minute blocks, that I could whip them out in way less than ten minute's time! Now, I was very organized and did all my cutting first, then all the sewing, then pressing, then changing thread for the finishing top-stitching. So I did them rather "assembly-line" fashion. I totally copied the color scheme from AZ Jane. Check hers out under "Christian's 10 Minute Block (not)"

Beautiful quilt. I have never made one that big but love doing that block.
|
OH BOY - what have I gotten myself into???? The leader at my quilt group, along with several of the other ladies, helped me sandwich this monster. When we got done and turned it over, it was awful...full of wrinkles. It was just so big, we couldn't get it stretched taught enough. My best bet is to start in the center with a hoop, and re-pin each area AS I quilt ...What a pain...300 pins to re-pin:rolleyes:

That is one gorgeous quilt!!!
