It is so sweet and pretty and I love it. You have done a great job.

Susy 07-13-2011 01:51 PM

Oooh, that is beautiful! No idea for the quilting, though (I'm pretty hopeless at that

caliquocat 07-13-2011 02:08 PM

What a difference a little color does for a room, eh?
Really a cute bed runner.

BevD 07-13-2011 02:52 PM

Gorgeous!!

Barbm 07-13-2011 03:43 PM

Love it! It's the perfect touch. (And I love E.T.- how cool is he?)

QUILTNMO 07-13-2011 04:02 PM

I love your bed runner! (Pillows too.) I call them "foot warmers" intead of bed runner. I started one for my hubby 7 years ago and finally finished it last year. Just couldn't decide what to do with it. I tend to bind my stuff in whatever the final border is, but I think that I'd bind this one with the pink...I love pink.
Your room looks so soothing.

Jingle 07-13-2011 04:47 PM

I would do a meander or stipple quilting, as that is my favorite. You should be able to avoid hitting or running into the yo yos and buttons. Just jump in with both feet and FMQ, it is fun.

By the way, it is beautiful, love the colors.

mtnative 07-13-2011 05:50 PM

I love it. Nicely done

Lindsey 07-13-2011 05:53 PM

It is great. I think you did a wonderful job on it. If you were to give it to a longarmer you might want to wait and add those buttons after its quilted. (for future ref)

GGinMcKinney 07-13-2011 05:54 PM

That is wonderful!!! How creative! Love it!!

debcavan 07-13-2011 06:06 PM

Oh yes, it is perfect with the pillow. And it helped immensely to add color and fun

Once this is done, I'm going to just sit awhile on this project so ideas might come to me on the wall hanging and/or head board ideas for the head of the bed. As you can see it's bare. I'll put an old picture up in the meantime.

Thanks for any input you have! Karen

how in the world did you get ET to match that stuff..hehehe

How creative! I love how you have used the french roses in this, very effective lay out!

Caroljoy 07-14-2011 02:51 AM

That's beautiful! Nice job.

joanie229 07-14-2011 03:02 AM

Great Idea, Makes the spread pop. best thing is you can change runners seasonally and a lot less expensive and takes up less room. :)

GladGrams 07-14-2011 03:08 AM

Beautifully done and SO creative! Love it.

Krystyna 07-14-2011 03:30 AM

Just adorable! Those flowers are so sweet!

DeniseB 07-14-2011 03:32 AM

Very pretty, I really like your fabrics, so soft and restful. Looks great

smagruder 07-14-2011 03:34 AM

You did a great job. I really like it.

BMP 07-14-2011 03:36 AM

Beautiful, I make them with matching pillows too, just enough to dress up the off white I have on the bed and I can make them seasonal too and it doesnt take a long time. If I have enough fabric I will sometimes make a matching runner for the nightstand.

piepatch 07-14-2011 03:46 AM

I don't have any quilting suggestions, but I sure do love your bed runner!

ggoens 07-14-2011 04:07 AM

Oh, my gosh....I love the whole thing! Did you have a pattern? Is there a pattern for the
french roses?

bobolee 07-14-2011 04:20 AM

Great idea! I like it!

nabobw 07-14-2011 04:20 AM

Looks wonderful

alleyoop1 07-14-2011 04:26 AM

It is lovely. I would do stitch-in-the-ditch around each block and square. Simple but elegant.

cowgirl 07-14-2011 04:27 AM

very nice! I want to make one too!

Thank you! There is a pattern for French Roses by Heather French, BUT...everywhere I looked it was out of stock! So...I found the next best thing...a blog where someone actually showed step by step how to make a French Rose block. This is the site: http://quilt-knit-run-sew.blogspot.c...ose-block.html

The other blocks were made from tube quilt piecing. (Much easier than I ever anticipated it would be!) And this is the tute that I used for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOWSp0mTTqE

So to answer your question, no I did not have any pattern...but I did find helps to make each block and create my own pattern. Which means you could easily make this or your own similar version without much difficulty. This was the very first time for me to make any of these blocks (and yoyos as well) and yet I was surprised at how easily it all went together once I made each block the first time. Good luck!

suekenyon 07-14-2011 04:29 AM

So pretty..lovely.

kristen0112 07-14-2011 04:39 AM

Super cute!

Sharon-OH 07-14-2011 04:45 AM

What a wonderful job, I would be running a satin stitch around the roses, but of course that is truly just me. Have fun quilting, don't have much practice on that- Yet.
