I was really excited to participate in the blue and white star exchange. I made several different blocks, but just didn't feel like making all 12, or felt that they were not fancy enough to share. So I finally decided to use up some of the blue and white fabric that I had. I totally eliminated several scraps. Yoo-woo!!! Yiippee! Anyway, I finally made enough of this block to finish a whole top. Now I've just gotta get it quilted and give to my neice for her August wedding.
I used quiltinaday.com's pattern for Leah's Star (free) to make this. It was pretty quick and easy. Seesaw border Each star block. Not all are the same, but in the coordinating color family The whole quilt. It's bright and cheerful, just right for the sweet girl it's going to. That's really pretty! I have some little blue and white floral fabric I bought years ago. It reminded me of the old corning ware baking dishes and my mom. You have inspired me to add another project to the ever growing.."list".

That is just gorgeous!!!
You guys are kind. I took the quilt top to one of my home Hospice visits to show my patient. The lady used to sew, and it really brightened her day to see a work in progress. It was fun to hear her tell stories about sewing, etc.
It sounds like you made her day. :-)
Very nice!!
Looking great! Blue's my favorite color. Take another picture when the quilting is done. They'll love it!
Sarah...your quilt is just lovely and the blues ae just yummy. Good job.
i really like this star and your fabric choices are great! nice present.
I was shopping at JoAnns and found some fabric just like one of the scraps that I used in some of the stars. So I bought enough for a border to make the quilt just a bit larger. It set it off better. I also put a tiny star like the big ones in each corner of the border. But I'm done now! (except quilting)

Got it all ready for the wedding (next week). Even my Gracie loves it. I like to sew in the summer, but not really much quilting, etc. so this was a struggle for me. Hurray, it's finished!
Just can't keep the cat of anything I make! I embroidery my initials. |
