I good friend used to compete in rodeos and I said I would make him a picture. Now I have to quilt it and that is the hard part for me. It is fusible applique and hand dyed fabrics.

It's fusible applique not needleturn so my trusty iron does all of the work for me.

Love it! I think I'd stitch the edge as in raw edge applique with either matching thread or invisible thread. I would then outline quilt the main subjects. I'd then SITD on the border strip to keep it square. When that is done, I'd go to Leah Days site and find a background pattern that would compliment the fabric and quilt it. Whatever you decide will look great because your top is wonderful.

I must say that the fabrics you used for the shirt and pants .... well, and the horse .... were great choices. You can "see" the creases in the clothing. I all looks so realistic. Your friend is very lucky to be getting this.
