"Right Foot Red" is Complete!!

Finished the top and binding this weekend! Just in time to start a new project while on vacation. The pattern was based on a free pattern from Hoffman Fabrics called "Royal Mendhi" and the pattern was "Crystals". I modified it to suit my needs, here's a link http://www.hoffmanfabrics.com/conten...asp?FolderID=7.

I originally posted this without the final quilting, thanking friends found here on the board who helped me with a fabric shortage issue. Here's the original post: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...d-t169874.html.

Very exciting to finish and I like the way the contrast between the crystals and the background came out! The quilt has been washed to bring out the beauty of it.

Enjoy!

That is beautiful! I love how the white between the colors just makes everything just pop! Thank you so much for sharing. It looks like you used 7 colors. How much fabric of each color do you think you used?

gzuslivz 03-06-2012 04:27 PM

I just found the pattern. It looks like you added a strip between rows. I sure like your adaptation better!

Thank you! I think I started out with a yard and a half of each color, and I have a fair amount left over. This was Connecting Threads Seconds fabric, which was great fabric and not flawed as advertised. My shortage came with the background fabric. The fabric was directional, and the directions had a misprint in directions that I didn't catch in time.

I did add a one inch strip between the rows. I chose that initially to try to make the quilt big enough and found I liked the way it brought the colors out!

I love your quilt. You did a beautiful job with color selection and that it's on a white background. Reminds me of a modern quilt!
