Amazing store! My local LQS is the size of a small boutique!

Has anyone heard of a store on this scale anywhere in Southern Cal? There's got to be one somewhere, right?

I thought you showed a great deal of restraint in your purchases. What are you planning for those beautiful blues?

Wish we had one of these in Chicago!

What a great place to visit. I was drooling. Your fabric is wonderful. It's going to keep you busy for a while.

New person here but I had to jump in on this thread. Some years back when my daughter lived in VA, my other half and I visited them about once a year. I always, always stopped at Mary Jo's. Jim began referring to the trip as my "annual pilgrimage to Mary Jo's". I didn't mind though as I always bought such neat fabrics. I miss it!

Mind boggling! I would have to shop one section per day. I could not do it on one trip, my mind would explode. I can't even handle the local Joann's Super store.

I used to live just across the interstate from Mary Jo's. Now I live in SC, but it's still only about 25 miles. There's an amazing store in Rockville, MD called G Street Fabrics and when I left the DC area nearly 13 yrs ago I didn't think I could survive without G St. Fabrics, then I found Mary Jo's. I was soooooo excited and told everyone who would listen about how I found the "G St Fabrics" in North Carolina.

G St. Fabrics now has a few locations including one in Centreville, VA near my son. I stopped in there last year when I went up for my mother's funeral, but their prices were too high for my blood. The main store in Rockville is like Mary Jo's on steroids. However, I'm totally content to stay in SC and OUT OF DC and Mary Jo's is definitely the fabric heaven around these parts! They have a virtual tour on their website and you can see the other departments - they actually have a lot more than quilt fabrics! :-)
Next time someone makes a road trip to Mary Jo's, let us locals know and maybe we can do lunch??

It was huge, fabric for as far as you could see. It is an old grocery store, set up warehouse style.
They were busy the whole time we were there.

They tear the fabric instead of cutting it which is fine, but it sure got my DH's attention as he had never seen that done before!

Prices were not bad. Less than the LQS.

First group of pics is of the store and the different areas.

Then some close ups of some of the fabric and how they have it displayed. (I did like the way they had it displayed - you could touch, it and hold it out to see it without take the bolt out of place.)

Last will be the pics of what I actually bought.
Please wait for all to be posted. O.K. Now you can look.
Enjoy and don't drool too much.

Now that I have wiped the drool from my chin... how many days were you in that sore? I don't think I would have ever come out!!! The last fabric you had - I would love to find that too - my daughter is a cancer survivor - it would be perfect to use for a quilt for her. Do you have plans for all the fabric you bought? I particularly love the Santa fabric.

My guild took a weekend trip there and had a blast. It was rumored that in two days we collectively spent $11,000. We had "show and tell" in the hotel lobby each night. Would love to go again.
