That's fantastic!! What a stunning quilt this is going to be.

I'm sooooo glad ducky is next and not me, absolutely nothing is popping into my mind for the next round! lol

Ducky 01-06-2010 01:45 PM

      How incredibly creative and beautiful. I'm feeling waaaaaaay out of my league here - just how do I follow Gai's and Lacelady's acts? It's thinking cap time. I'm sure I can come up with a good idea, but it's my ability of doing the center and two borders justice that I'm worried about. ****major floor twitching going on here!****

She can always do some wallpaper for the dressing room walls.

Sowwy Ducky - please don't twitch, it did occur to me that you could do wallpaper for the dressing room walls?

kluedesigns 01-06-2010 01:54 PM

what a brilliant idea, every diva needs wallpaper for the dressing room.

gaigai 01-06-2010 04:42 PM

Oh Lesley, that is absolutely perfect! Isn't it funny how an idea can develop a life of its own?!

KLue, I am glad that you like it. Now you can go get some tissue from the truck and blow your nose. And maybe we should send some tissue to Ducky. At least enough to pad her as she lies on the floor twitching! ROFLMBO

kluedesigns 01-06-2010 04:54 PM

i just love it - i'm a diva, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Just wandered in here, and LACE! IMPRESSIVE!
I couldn't figure out about the "shining" and then after someone commented on it, I went back and, OF COURSE! How clever you were to create "jars" one can see through!
Before you get to the wall paper, Ducky ... I was thinking about the things I put around my mirror ... Like newspaper clippings, pictures of the kids, jewelry ... ticket stubs, receipts (Yes <g> I have a VERY large mirror!)
I was just so totally into the "moment" of Miss Lacelady's border ... I HAD to share - - or strangle!!! we all know how much I like breathing! LOL
I don't want anyone to think your borders/centers/ and quilts aren't special, because I like them all, but what is being done with THIS one is EXCEPTIONAL! and, it started out in a separate world ... <wave>

Ducky 01-16-2010 02:04 PM

I received the beautiful creation in the mail today. It's just incredible. I applaud all three of you.

I have figured out what I will do and will start on it as soon as I'm finished with Terri's center.

gma2JR BT JL and CK 01-21-2010 02:19 PM

I just found this thread, and all I can say is wow!!!!. Very imaginative and creative. Everyone's work if gorgeous.

Okay, I am finished with KLue's center. It wasn't easy following Lacelady and Gaigai....believe me. Seems like I had several problems with it, but I think it turned out okay. After FINALLY finding some fabric that would go with the theme and color, I got the borders on (with mitered corners). I was doing machine embroidery on the second corner when the machine ATE the corner. I didn't have enough fabric to replace the two border strips so I went to the store to get more......wrong. They didn't have anymore. SO, I had to make the corners from square blocks. I soooooooo hope this looks okay, KLue. I have fretted over this one for a long time. If you hate it, please don't tell me.

Ducks, it's Beautiful!!! What a great idea: Roses for the star! I'm sorry your machine ate some of it, but it looks great. Ya done good, kid!! So, Blue, I guess you're up next, eh!?

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 03-17-2010 06:30 PM

You ladies have done an awesome job. It was a beautiful center to start with and each of you improved it. I'm sure it will be treasured.

I double checked, and it is Blue next. I re-sent you the email. Hugs Toots! Now, where's our Diva?

BlueChicken 03-17-2010 07:01 PM

Ohhhhhh..... I love the fabric, and the roses are just divine!

Absolutely not a clue what I'm going to do.... although, I thought the same about the next IRR centre when I saw it's picture, but when it arrived in the mail and I actually had it on my wall the right thing popped into mind. I'm totally confident the same will happen here. *gulp*

cutebuns 03-17-2010 07:34 PM

Awesome job Ducky!

k3n 03-18-2010 12:16 AM

Ducky it's beautiful! The darker blue frames the stars and light bulbs perfectly and the little embroidered roses are a gorgeous touch. Fantastic job! Whose that peeping over the top, BTW?

gaigai 03-18-2010 12:22 AM

That's our fine feathered friend, k!! Don't you recognize the peepers without the quacker? :P

k3n 03-18-2010 12:23 AM

It was not being able to see the beak that threw me! Went back for a look - of COURSE it's the Ducksta! Stoopid moi! MV

gaigai 03-18-2010 01:57 AM

I am keeping my fingers crossed that you think it is OK Klue, and that you don't need that truck load of tissues again.

that is just beautiful, and after I figured out all the initals out. I was laughing at everyones coments, all of you are just wonderful. Penny
