Here is a photo of my Roll Roll Cotton Boll Mystery Quilt. It was an 8 week mystery sponsored by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville. I am slower than most of the people who did the mystery quilt, but I am finally finished with the flimsy. Not sure yet about the quilting, but have some ideas of what I would like.

Stunning!

RedGarnet222 02-22-2011 09:22 PM

Beautiful job! I am so slow sewer too. I guess that I don't care if it takes a long time, only that it turns out right.

Are you going to have it long armed?

cjomomma 02-22-2011 09:22 PM

Very beautiful! The colors are great.

CAgirl1 02-22-2011 09:48 PM

Great job on the quilt!! I don't rush through anything too fast otherwise the mistakes happen. Love your color choices.

I will probably not have it long armed, will have to see. I'm just happy it is finished and turned out so well. The colors are the ones Bonnie suggested, so I went with them. It was my first mystery and I did not have a clue what I was in for. It used up tons of scraps.

Great Job! It's beautiful!

sewTinker 02-23-2011 03:29 AM

this turned out amazingly beautiful. wow... super job, and good eye for bonnie's colors. I had planned on doing this one, and downloaded the first few instructions. Alas, life kept getting in the way. I must say, the Cutting amounts made my eyes pop. hahaha... (cut 10,000 strips,,,) so I know how daunting this was. It sure looks like it's worth it. it's fantastic.

Lv2sew2011 02-23-2011 03:41 AM

Very, Very pretty...

mackandblues 02-23-2011 03:56 AM

Gorgeous! Mine is in process.... How are you going to quilt it? I'm thinking outline quilting on the blocks but not sure what to do on the string blocks....

Lindsey 02-23-2011 04:22 AM

Well at least yours is done. I am still piecing mine and it will be awhile till i am done. Yours turned out great. very nice indeed..

lauriejo 02-23-2011 04:27 AM

Beautiful quilt!

Veronica 02-23-2011 04:31 AM

Beautiful, such tiny pieces for the blocks.
It would take me forever to make something with such tiny pieces of fabric.

jeanequilts 02-23-2011 04:42 AM

Gorgeous!

dove 02-23-2011 04:43 AM

oldhag 02-23-2011 04:55 AM

Thanks for sharing your accomplishment. It looks great! I am still cutting and piecing mine. To see a finished one is encouraging to me. I am enjoying doing this quilt... Starting the 600 triangles next. Wish me luck

sidmona 02-23-2011 04:57 AM

This quilt looks like it would be something you couldn't rush through. You did a wonderful job - it is beautiful!

vbourck 02-23-2011 05:10 AM

I really like your red center squares in the string blocks, it adds some interest to them. Mine is done and being quilted this week by a board member. I can't wait to get it back and finish it up. It is a very large quilt but Bonnie broke the steps down into do-able parts. There are thousands of pieces- it is definitely one to be proud of when its finished!

SewCraftyGirl 02-23-2011 05:12 AM

What a beautiful job! I would love to see it when it's quilted.

Donna094 02-23-2011 05:15 AM

I'm so glad to see you've done this one! I've been just 'watching' this one. You've done a GREAT job!

KathyAire 02-23-2011 06:05 AM

Nice quilt. I love the border. I must say I admire you for doing that. Those little half square triangles would make me nuts.

cuppi duke 02-23-2011 07:09 AM

That is so pretty.

DebraK 02-23-2011 07:12 AM

Candace 02-23-2011 07:16 AM

Funny, I was working on mine last night! You beat me to the finish line.

Chele 02-23-2011 08:14 AM

Wow! It turned out gorgeous! I gave up on the 600 hst step. I might have to get back on the horse after seeing your beauty.

LauraEllen 02-23-2011 09:06 AM

Wow, you are much further along with your Roll Roll Cotton Boll then I am! I am only about 1/2 way done.
Thanks for giving me so new motivation to finish mine.

greensleeves 02-23-2011 10:44 AM

Mine is still a WIP so you are not slow at all. Your quilt turned out great!!
