On a roll for UFO's

2 Attachment(s)
I committed to myself to start "nothing new" or buy anything til I got a big portion of my UFO's done (feeling very overwhelmed and like I was wasting money). So, here are a couple more done and one more should be finished by tomorrow! I am feeling way better already!

nativetexan 11-29-2013 12:25 PM

Merivale 11-29-2013 12:38 PM

Great colours, good job, best feeling. Well done. Now you can have a clear concious for the Boxing Day fabric sales sales ;)

QuiltnNan 11-29-2013 12:56 PM

mariatherese 11-29-2013 01:15 PM

Yes,,it was, a D9P, think I love that pattern. Both quilts were all leftover flannels from what seems like the hundreds of pj's that I make every year!! , everybody loves the "nana jams," as they are called now(my 13 yr old grandaughter was so excited 2 weeks ago because she got "store bought pj's" from somebody, apparently according to her mom, they were icky, limp and like flood pants after 1 washing so I guess she will have a lesson that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, however, I remember wishing I could trade sandwiches with my friends, I had homemade bread and theirs always looked so much nicer/neater!

Doesn't it make you feel great to just finish and make it all a "wrap". I do that every once in a while, and it is like cleaning the entire house--feels good to just start new!

Jo M 11-29-2013 04:12 PM

You go, girl!

M.Elizabeth 11-29-2013 04:23 PM

Both are beautiful, but I especially love the rag quilt!

Good for you, they are really cute.

mamajack3 11-29-2013 05:52 PM

I love finishing UFOs. Good job.

Nammie to 7 11-29-2013 07:23 PM

Good job!! Don't you feel good when you are able to finish up projects!! I was feeling overwhelmed also -- took a week and organized my fabric, put projects together, put them in order to finish by when they are needed and actually finished a couple up. Makes me want to work on another one!

4EVERquilt 11-29-2013 07:52 PM

the same thing has been on my mind, I am drowning in UFO's. I have to get motivated like you and finish them up!! Yours are very nice!!

Painiacs 11-29-2013 07:57 PM

Good for you!! Keep it up!!! :-)

Lori S 11-29-2013 08:00 PM

Nothing like a finish up on a project to give a cleansing feeling!

debcavan 11-29-2013 08:49 PM

Both very sharp.

Peggy Jeanne 11-29-2013 08:50 PM

You inspire me to get started!

earthwalker 11-29-2013 10:02 PM

Good for you....what a great feeling it is when you get those "on the backburner" items completed.

QM 11-29-2013 11:00 PM

Hurray for you!!!

audsgirl 11-30-2013 12:01 AM

Good for you. I particularly like the top one. It's a very interesting design.

Retired Fire Chief 11-30-2013 03:46 AM

Congratulations, great quilt. I need some of your determination, I had (emphasis on HAD) promised myself I would not buy more fabric until I finished at least 2 of my ufos but I had a weak moment yesterday while looking at the black Friday on-line sales - I folded and bought enough for another quilt!

cowgirlquilter 11-30-2013 04:35 AM

These are absolutely adorable!!!! Great job!!!!

twinkie 11-30-2013 05:15 AM

You have done good. I am working on mine also.

gabeway 11-30-2013 05:41 AM

Love them both!

solstice3 11-30-2013 06:01 AM

looking good!

alikigirl 11-30-2013 06:20 AM

Finishing does make you feel good, doesn't it. Those both look great.

moreland 11-30-2013 06:21 AM

Love the way the D9P turned out. I stored a copy of the picture in my personal "quilts I like" file.

Czech Rose 11-30-2013 06:22 AM

Congratulations on finishing two quilts. This past year, a quilt guild member died, and her sister was overwhelmed when she discovered 42 unfinished quilt projects. Some of the guild members completed part of the UFOs.

joyce888 11-30-2013 06:22 AM

Very very nice.

BuzzinBumble 11-30-2013 09:36 AM

You have a wonderful eye for cheery, uplifting color combinations!

runswithscissors 11-30-2013 12:23 PM

Great job, great quilts and great resolve. Good on you.

Grandma Peg 11-30-2013 01:35 PM

Very nice quilts and nice to finish 2 UFO's.

mighty 12-01-2013 07:15 AM

Wonderful work!!!

jmoore 12-01-2013 07:16 AM

both are very nice and I love the first one... is there a name for the pattern? I'd love to make a small one like yours.

DJ 12-01-2013 08:29 AM

Ahhh! I need to do this to myself in January. Very nice work!

WMUTeach 12-01-2013 09:16 AM

I too have resolved to get my UFO pile under control. I have vowed to finish one quilt per month from the pile. (I still work full time.) I am down to about 4 or 5 unfinished quilts tops waiting for quilting and only have two new starts on my flannel board. Tee-Hee !! Sometimes I just have to try that new patter I see posted or find on the web.

Three cheers for us and all who are tackling our UFOs. Good for us and it is not even time for those New Years resolutions yet! Be strong and courageous as you continue through your pile.
